Depression is a mental health condition that can affect your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, you may be depressed:

  1. Feeling sad, empty, or hopeless: You may feel down most of the day, every day, for at least two weeks.
  2. Loss of interest or pleasure in activities you used to enjoy: You may feel like you no longer enjoy things you used to like, such as hobbies, sports, or spending time with friends and family.
  3. Changes in appetite or weight: You may have a significant increase or decrease in appetite or weight.
  4. Difficulty sleeping or sleeping too much: You may have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, or you may sleep too much.
  5. Feeling tired or lacking energy: You may feel exhausted or lack energy, even after getting enough sleep.
  6. Feeling guilty or worthless: You may feel like you're a burden to others, or that you're not good enough.
  7. Difficulty concentrating or making decisions: You may have trouble concentrating, remembering details, or making decisions.
  8. Physical symptoms: You may experience physical symptoms such as headaches, stomachaches, or muscle pain that don't have a clear physical cause.
  9. Thoughts of death or suicide: You may have thoughts of harming yourself or ending your life.

It's important to note that everyone experiences depression differently, and not all symptoms may be present. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms and they are impacting your daily life, it's important to seek help from a mental health professional. Depression is a treatable condition, and with the right support and treatment, you can start to feel better.
